As a Welsh athlete, I have plenty of stories about my time on tournaments and at training camps with my team. This will be the place that documents all of my tales.
There are many ups and downs, all the time – such is the nature of sport.
From difficult results and paying to play, to winning medals and singing the national anthem, there is never a dull moment. I am incredibly proud of my journey to reach the level that I am at, and wouldn’t change a thing – representing Cymru is the biggest honour, especially alongside the wonderful and inspiring women that I am lucky enough to call my teammates.
For those who don’t know, my boyfriend, Owen, plays hockey for the Wales senior men. Did someone say ‘Hoci Cymru power couple’…?
Excitingly, this means I am able to write from a full perspective of the Welsh men and women’s teams, as well as a sneak peak into the GB setup, with both Owen and I being GB Elite Development Programme (sub-senior) athletes. What more could you possibly want to read about?!
Following a silver medal at the EuroHockey Championship II (see below, left), Wales Women have qualified for a World Cup Qualifier, 2026, and a European A Division, London 2027 – there will be plenty of Wales action for me to write about, and for you to read, over the coming year. Similarly, Wales men also qualified for these tournaments, winning gold at their respective EuroHockey II (see below, right).
Stay tuned for a 2025 international summer recap!
