About Me!

My name is Amy (or Crads to most), and I am 21 years old.
I currently play hockey for the Welsh senior team, and the U21s.
I play my club hockey in the Premier League at Loughborough University, where I study Sports Technology.

So, why did I start this blog?

The answer is simple; I love hockey, and I get a lot of joy from writing and sharing my experiences. Thus, ‘On the Flick Side’ was born – a play on words that displays both my affinity for drag flicking, as well as the entire basis of this blog: to display the flip side, or behind the scenes, of an international hockey career.

Thank you for spending your time reading my ramblings. It means a lot.

What’s Next?

With the Welsh senior women, building on our performance at Euros in Summer 2025 (and at the Junior World Cup in December), we aim to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, participating in the World Cup Qualifiers (WCQ) tournament in Hyderabad, India.

WCQ, India: 08-16 Mar 2026

Upon returning from the World Cup Qualifiers, I head back to Loughborough to see out our BUCS cup run, and the Premier league season.

BUCS semi final: 18 Mar 2026

In the meantime, have a look at my Junior World Cup recap post here: Junior World Cup 2025
